The Lake:
- Bullock Pen Lake is a 148-acre lake was created in the early 1960s when the Bullock Pen Creek was dammed, and it has since become a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.
- Surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests, Bullock Pen Lake offers visitors a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Fishing is a popular activity here, with plenty of bass, crappie, and catfish to be caught. The lake also has a boat ramp and a dock, making it easy to launch your own watercraft.
- Boats over 10hp must operate in idle speed. Please see Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources for more regulations for the Lake. Fishing maps can be found online at gpsnauticalcharts.com.
- A fishing license is required to fish in Bullock Pen Lake.
- Swimming is not permitted in the lake.
Kayaking:
- This portion of the lake is very peaceful and quiet. Occasionally you will see locals coming to this side of the lake in their boats or kayaks, often to find the best spot to catch fish.
- To cross to access the other side of the lake there is a culvert under the road. The kayaks fit easily under this and you can explore the rest of the lake from there.
- If you need to dry off after a kayak, please use the colored towels provided on the shelf in the laundry room.
- Please return the kayaks and life jackets back to the garage when you are finished with them
Pellet Stove:
In cold months, one of the most common questions we get about the house is the pellet stove. It is not an instant on appliance and does take a bit of patience and persistence. Once you get it running, you are almost guaranteed to enjoy it! It put out much more heat than a traditional fireplace or gas stove and is well worth the effort!
For detailed instructions on how to operate the pellet stove, please click here: Pellet Stove Instructions
Thermostat:
- The thermostat will go to "away" mode when you leave. It may be warm or cool when you arrive. If you want to override this feature, please review the instructions below or contact us for help.
- HEAT or COOL: Slide finger up or down on the right side to raise or lower the temperature.
- Tap the right side for the MENU (slide and tap to select)
- You may select hold and the time if you want to hold the temperature you desire, otherwise the system will kick into “ECO” mode when it senses that you’ve left the house.
- Please conserve energy where possible. Don’t run the heat or air conditioning with windows and doors open. Consider using the “ECO” setting when you will be away for the day.
- Call, message or email us if you have problems with the thermostat. We can set it to your desired temperature remotely.
Tub & Shower:
Unfortunately, due to the age of the tub, the jets do not work.
